Honeymoon Love {Part 2}

03/10/2014

When Mike and I were choosing our honeymoon destination, we knew we wanted to be surrounded by culture, good food and beauty.  We knew Italy would blow our minds in all three categories and we were not disappointed.  The first half of our trip was spent in the hills of Chianti, Tuscany about half way between Florence and Siena.  We stayed at a small bed and breakfast called, La Canonica di Cortine, set far off the main road and tucked away by wine vineyards.  In summary, it was perfection.  Quiet during the off season in late October.  Crisp air and peaceful evenings.  We explored.  We tasted beautiful wines made with the famously delicious sangiovese grapes.  We savored the richness of truffles and the freshness of olive oil.  We fell in love with Tuscany.  Every region, each town.

The second half of our trip was spent in Sorrento.  We love a good road trip so we didn’t hesitate at the thought of driving the 5 hours to Sorrento.  However, we had to ditch the car once we arrived and realized how difficult it is to drive in Sorrento with it’s incredibly narrow roads.  We stayed at a beautiful hotel in the heart of Sorrento.  As much as we loved our B&B in Tuscany, we were ready for an upgrade and the Grand Hotel La Favorita was exactly that.  We explored the beach town and hopped on a ferry to Capri for the day.  We enjoyed spending our days with absolutely no plan consisting of reading, wine & cheese.  Too much cheese actually.  So with that, here is our full story.  You can find the sneak peek here.
SIDE NOTE:  Sifting through our honeymoon photographs and delicately editing each one to its perfection makes me want to travel the world.  To capture a wedding in the midst of exploring a new culture?  Well, that about sums up my dream.  If you are getting married overseas and in some way my photographs touch your heart, please contact me.  I’d love, I mean love, to capture your day.

A traveler without observation is a bird without wings.
