Getting Ready || Lord Thompson Manor Cottage House

03/01/2016

The getting ready portion of the day are some of my favorite moments to photograph. The moments right before you get into your dress and right after. The nerves, giggles, warm embraces and flowing tears are the images I love capturing, the ones that make you feel. But these moments deserve a memorable setting soaked in natural light. A unique space with an abundance of windows is the platform that I recommend to my brides.  Whether it be a bridal suite at the venue, an airbnb or a suite in a modern hotel, character and light promote the image to another level. But window light is key.  It’s the natural light that elevates the image so that it speaks to your heart years from now.

This is why I love the Lord Thompson Manor.  The manor itself is romantic, like a grand mansion found in the French countryside covered in green vines.  But my favorite part is their white cottage house down the street used by the bride and her gals.  The natural window light and illuminating white walls and ceiling are mesmerizing.  It’s the perfect platform for the most beautiful getting ready images and for the girls to feel extra special.  So for this reason, I’m sharing my favorite images from when Johnna spent her wedding morning with her dearest feeling like her most beautiful self and getting ready for her first look with her love, Ryan.

Getting ready images.  They matter. <3
