I’m a mom of two toddler boys born 20 months apart with loads of energy and so much love for each other and definitely dogs and bugs too. I’ve been on the other side of the camera nervous to schedule a photo session unsure of how my boys will cooperate. I’ve been there hoping to feel more camera ready and most of all, more like myself. I’ve sat there wondering how I can possibly find a photographer who can capture all of this love we have for each other. How to hang on to these memories so we can revisit the happiest of times because we all know it’s not all cuddles and giggles with toddlers.
So about me? I’m a retired wedding photographer turned family photographer AND short filmmaker. I’m married to my best friend and a man who is a better father and husband than I ever could have hoped for. We live in a cozy restored historic home in a quaint Connecticut town only an hour from NYC, where we met. Date night is as important to us as good wine and our favorite board game, Sequence. We cherish our little family getaways to Maine and Mystic. Mike and I dream of the day we take our boys to meet my extended family in Portugal and explore the countryside as we did when it was just the two of us. Now with weekends wedding free, we’re loving our family adventures together and all of the woodsy hikes too.
So here is a short film I crafted of our two boys. When they were just a dream, a hope, a seed in my belly, even then we couldn’t have envisioned how sweet and kind our boys would be. We couldn’t have foreseen a home and our hearts full of so much love.
Photographs of me and my family by the talented, Jennifer Marcuson. Short films by me.
