Notice anything different?? I’ve been itching to share the rebranding and new site of Ashley Caroline for weeks! To sum it up, it feels like home. It wouldn’t have happened without the amazing Jane Reaction + Brandi of Alchemy Aim. These two gals are creative geniuses and I’m so honored to have worked with them!
I thought there was no better time to publish the new face of Ashley Caroline than with a reflection post about the last year. 2015 has been a game changer for me, personally and professionally. Personally, Mike and I bought our first home, adopted our pup, went on a life-changing trip to Portugal and are pregnant with our baby boy. Saying that last bit gets me SO EXCITED! We’re giddy with excitement for 2016 and pray that our little babe arrives healthy. Luna doesn’t know it yet but she’s just as excited as Mike + I to meet her little brother!
Professionally, it’s been the best year yet! I’m so grateful for the beautiful locations I’ve traveled to and most importantly, for the couples I’ve had the honor of photographing. I photographed couples that are spontaneous, easy going, generous with their love, full of trust and laughter. They’ve inspired me in love and life and there’s nothing more rewarding and fulfilling than that.
I’m proud of the work I’ve created but am never fully content with my work. Without a doubt, this lack of complacency has helped me grow as an artist and it pushes me to stay relevant in an ever evolving industry. There are always things I want to do better. So as I reflect on 2015, I look to the future and have decided to set professional goals here on the site. Some of these I already try my best to accomplish but there is always room for improvement. So. Photograph more moments and allow them to occur even more organically. Anticipate. Shoot more local weddings (CT + NY). Sit in the dining room during dinner to capture more intimate and fleeting moments during the reception. Experiment. Continue to push myself and shoot creatively. Do better.
Below I set my first challenge in 2016. Narrow down the 400+ images I initially chose for this reflection post to under 100 images. I can’t even tell you how impossible that was! But here I share with you the images that best represent me as an artist in 2015. There are so many more clients and images I wish I could have shared but I had to meet the challenge!!
